If you cannot come to the meeting, but would like to listen to the
talks you can either use your phone to connect to the conference or
you can try our live video stream. For more information, please continue reading.
Phone
Instruction how to connect by phone appear on the program.
Video stream
Our experience shows that receiving the video stream is easiest if
you use the vlc player, which you
can download at the vlc web
page. After installing the client, please start it and open a
network stream (File->Open Network Stream). There select http and
enter the following information:
datagate.aei.uni-hannover.de:7070
When you hit OK, the stream should appear within a few
seconds. Please note, that depending on the network distance between
the server and you as well as the player you are using there might be
a considerable delay. If you participate via video stream and
by phone, do not forget to mute your line!
In principle a wide range of players should be able to play this
stream, however, we have also seen a few players having problems. We
try to maintain a small list of alternative players you may use,
please keep us informed what works for you and what not! Thanks a
lot
Players and problems
- vlc
- Reported to work on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux (Debian, Fedora,
Ubuntu).
- Windows Media Player
- Some versions seem to work, however, V11 buffers several minutes
of the stream before starting to play.
